Job Description



Our client in Salem is seeking an experienced Buyer (Supply Chain) who enjoys working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. 


This position would directly support the purchasing team in day-to-day activities to ensure work progresses on schedule and with high quality. This client offers a unique working environment that allows a hands-on individual to develop and grow as the company expands its footprint and maintains high performance as a trusted defense contractor


Pay
  • $26.00 - $31.00/hour ($55k to $65k  annually)


Shift
  • 1st Shift Monday - Friday
  • 8:00am to 5:00pm OR 7:00am to 4:00pm
 

Responsibilities
  • Issuing RFQs and purchase orders timely to support production
  • Managing supplier due dates and expediting crucial orders
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with suppliers
  • Work with planning and operations to support manufacturing schedules
  • Assist with payables and invoicing questions/issues

Job Requirements

Requirements
  • College degree or equivalent experience
  • CPM certification is a plus.
  • 3-5 years of purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Excellent analytical and financial skills.
  • Working experience in an ERP system, preferably Infor Visual
  • Highly skilled in Excel, Word, Power-Point
  • Be able to comprehend blueprints and drawings
  • Comfortable negotiating terms and pricing with suppliers.
