Our client in Akron, OH is looking for an Operations Manager to join their team!

Job Description 
Operations Manager is ultimately responsible for all aspects of Manufacturing. The Operations Manager supervises and coordinates activities of supervisors and workers, should be engaged in all phases of plant operations. This includes scheduling machines and departments as needed, monitoring the quality of the work produced and assure work meets company standards. The Operations Manager is responsible for the training and the performance of each employee in the department. The Operations Manager is also responsible for identifying better ways of getting the work done and improving upon the existing process, while monitoring the budget for manufacturing.

Duties:
  • Oversee the ordering of shop supplies as needed.
  • Investigate new technology, hardware and software and make suggestions for improvements.
  •  Work with inside and outside sale to ensure that all jobs go through the shop in a timely fashion and all questions and concerns are answered.
  • Review Personnel performance to determine individual most suited to promotion.
  • Schedule periodic quality checks throughout the departments to ensure work is up to company standards
  • Continually monitor shop floor to ensure all employees are accounted for and working during their scheduled shift.
  • Solicit ideas from employees to improve our processes and pass them on to upper Management.
  •  Ensure all employees are working to keep a clean work environment.
  • Provide information and participate in the scheduled weekly meetings.
  •  Schedule and conduct safety meetings and record minutes.
  • Work with upper Management and Maintenance to schedule day to day maintenance issues.
  • Schedule weekend shifts and Supervision as needed.
  • Monitor Production Workflow daily and communicate with Supervisors on priorities.

Requirements:
  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Engineering or Business.
  •  Training and Experience: Recent experience in Project Management, Manufacturing and Plant Management. This should include good technical skills, organizational skills, and people management skills.
  •  Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a supervisory position.
  •  Extensive knowledge of manufacturing which should include but not be limited to grinding, burning, tooling, metal cutting, shipping, receiving, quality, purchasing, subcontracting, CAD /CAM, and scheduling. (3-5 years exp.

  • Must have flexible work hours; weekends may be need at times.
  •  Able to work closely and communicate will with Shift Supervisors, and Upper Management.
  • Able to promote a positive attitude to all employees.

Hours:
1st Shift- 7am until 5pm.

Pay: 
$50,000-70,000.
