Our client in Akron is looking for Insurance Verification Specialists to join their team!

Shift

Responsibilities

Complete financial interviews yearly for each client. Obtain all relevant demographic and financial information for the client's record, including copies of: insurance card, income verification, and photo ID
Confirm all client information is current, complete, and accurate. Verify insurance via various payer portals. Update Credible and/or GOSH with any new verified information
Works closely with Case Workers and Receptionists to ensure required documentation is obtained in a timely manner
Notifies client eligibility specialist with any change in insurance coverage for ACT clients or if the client has moved out of county
Works as a liaison between finance, medical staff and the lab regarding insurance eligibility questions and/or issues
Collects co-pays, deductibles, and payments from clients as necessary

Knowledge of insurance verification, an understanding of Medicare and Medicaid
Ability to communicate in person and over the phone with clients that have severe and persistent mental illness§ Must be able to multi task efficiently, detail oriented
Working knowledge of computers with experience using Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word
Strong use of typing skills
Perform multiple tasks effectively
Able to work both independently and as part of a team
Strong analytical skills required
Capable of making timely, independent decisions
Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.
